Martina Conte, University of Parma, Italy
10 – 11AM
Wednesday Feb 12, 2025
Martina Conte is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Research group of Mathematical Physics at the Department of Mathematical, Physical, and Computer Sciences of the University of Parma (Italy), under the supervision of Prof. M. Bisi.
Her research is highly interdisciplinary, specializing in using mathematical and computational modeling techniques to investigate biological and medical systems. The primary focus is on multiscale phenomena, which involve mechanisms operating at various levels, from microscopic processes to macroscopic dynamics.
In particular, Conte is interested in how these multiscale processes contribute to the dynamics of heterogeneous systems composed of diverse components. This includes exploring how different cellular and molecular elements interact and give rise to emergent behaviors that impact cell growth and progression. In particular, these mechanisms play a crucial role in determining cell behavior within the tumor microenvironment.
